Practical and Legal Considerations for Managing a Multi-State Workforce

The pandemic has prompted many employers to fundamentally recalibrate how to think about work and the workplace in the United States.  To that end, many college and university leaders are contemplating whether and how to implement remote work arrangements as an operational norm.  Of course, this question raises a number of legal, practical, and equity implications.  In this 2-hour webinar, two NACUA member employment law experts will explore:

  • How to evaluate prospective and retroactive remote work requests based on a risk continuum;

  • Compliance considerations, including issues related to business registration, required notices and polices, background checks, wage and hour laws, paid leave, and more;

  • Insurance coverage; and

  • Specific issues related to privacy, unions, personal jurisdiction, and conflicts of laws.

Who Should Attend?

This is an intermediate level webinar. The webinar is directed to college and university counsel with responsibility for employment law matters, as well as campus administrators with significant responsibilities related to employment law, personnel, and human resources.
