As leader of Husch Blackwell LLP’s education team, Hayley Hanson advises on compliance, litigation, and governance issues involving student aid, accreditation, governance, privacy, campus crime, state licensure, distance education, faculty, students and general employment. She represents educational institutions exclusively, with a dedicated focus on higher education. In addition to regularly updating and training clients on their evolving obligations, Hayley counsels on, investigates, and litigates disputes arising from federal statutes, including Title IX, Title IV, Title VI and Title VII, the Clery Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. She assists clients with risk management and compliance through legal compliance audits and the development of systems, policies and procedures. Hayley also serves as outside general counsel to more than 20 public and private institutions of higher education, including schools of nursing and allied health.
