Several months after the August 14, 2020 effective date of the Department of Education’s final Title IX regulations, colleges and universities continue to wrestle with a variety of implementation challenges, calling upon counsel and other campus administrators to administer policies and processes that are workable for their institutions and students, and consistent with the final regulations. The sweeping changes and exacting detail of the regulations make this task a challenge, especially coupled with the overlay of the global pandemic that has fundamentally shifted educational delivery and operations on many college campuses. Adding to the complexity, an incoming Biden Administration is likely to take action in this area, possibly changing the landscape significantly over the coming months and years.
This two-hour webinar, presented by three NACUA experts, will address many of these crucial topics, including:
- Working through challenges in crafting policies and procedures
- Challenges in the employment arena, including the overlap between Title VII and Title IX
- Advisors: issues to think about when making key decisions about who to choose and their role
- Alternative resolution options
- The actions a Biden Administration could take to begin to unwind the regulations, and what we are likely to see in place of the August 14 final rule
Who Should Attend?
This webinar will be of interest to college and university counsel who handle sexual misconduct matters, Title IX coordinators, student affairs professionals, human resources professionals, and other campus administrators responsible for student and employee conduct matters. Members may wish to invite administrators on their campus with responsibilities in these or related areas to join them for the program. This program will be at the intermediate to advanced level, and will presume a working knowledge of the regulations.
