On April 24, 2024, the U.S. Department of Justice issued its Final Rule regarding implementation of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) across digital platforms, which codifies application of existing nondiscrimination requirements for services, programs, and activities to public postsecondary web-based services and mobile apps. This Rule establishes detailed technical standards for web and mobile app content accessibility to promote equitable access to public services for people with a range of disabilities. The Final Rule is likely to serve as a blueprint for subsequent rulemaking under Title III.
