Mr. Weston’s career at Northwestern and as a member of NACUA have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues from all corners of the country. He has been instrumental in guiding NACUA through times of transition and has always been one of its strongest advocates. He then served as First Vice President (1993-1994), President-Elect (1994-1995), and as the Association’s 34th President in 1995-1996. He has also been a member of virtually every NACUA Committee, including Board Operations (Chair, 1988-1990), the Ad-Hoc Committee on Professional Relations (Chair, 1990-1991), Member Services, Finance, Section Oversight (Chair, 1992-1993), Annual Conference Program (Chair, 1993-1994), Continuing Legal Education, Nominations and Elections (Chair, 1996-1997), Honors and Awards (Chair, 1997-1998), and Arrangements (Co-Chair, 1991-1992). In addition, he has attended every Annual Conference since 1983, many of them as either a speaker or a discussion leader.
Mr. Weston has been described by his colleagues as a man of unquestionable integrity, as a mentor, and as an overall advocate for what our Association stands for – the effective legal representation of colleges and universities.
NACUA is pleased to present Mr. Weston with Life Membership in recognition of these exemplary attributes and for his unparalleled contributions to the Association. He has been a valued and valuable member of NACUA and of the higher education law profession.
