Higher Education Compliance Alliance (HECA)
Website managed by NACUA that is comprised of materials from 30 higher education associations providing a centralized repository of resources on compliance with federal laws and regulations. Includes a compliance matrix that provides a list of key federal laws and regulations governing colleges and universities. Learn more

Service offered to help NACUA members identify documents in the Legal Resources Library that are responsive to targeted research requests. Learn more

The only national law review devoted exclusively to higher education law; includes scholarly articles about higher education law topics; delivered electronically. Learn more

- Benchmarking Survey on Salaries: Survey report that compiles aggregated salary data for college and university attorneys and the institutions they represent; conducted every 2-3 years and available for sale. Learn more

Educational Programming & Events
CLE Workshops
Held three times annually (Fall, Winter, Spring), these two-day workshops focus on specific topics including compliance programs, sponsored research/technology transfer, discrimination law, employment law and other various areas of focus. Every other year, a General Counsel Institute is held specifically for in-house chief legal officers. CLE credit is available to attendees. Learn more
Annual Conference
Held annually in late June, this three-day conference including 100+ education sessions covering more than 10 different topic areas. Pre-conference events include the Lawyers New to Higher Education Workshop and General Counsel Roundtables. CLE credit is available to attendees. Learn more
Webinars
Interactive programs that allow members and colleagues on campus to listen and view a live, online presentation via the web. Typically, 11 webinars are offered per year on different topics. Participants may be eligible for CLE credit depending on the state. Learn more
Online Courses
Courses on different topics that feature PowerPoint presentations narrated by leading higher education experts, extensive course materials, self-assessments, and instructor-led conference calls; asynchronous and available year-round. Participants may be eligible for CLE credit depending on the state. Learn more

- Webinar Recordings
NACUA members may purchase access to recent webinar recordings and may also access selected webinar recordings for free. Webinar recordings are exclusively available to NACUA members and can be watched or listened to any time.
- Workshops and Conference Recordings
NACUA’s workshop and conference materials—including written materials and session recordings—are available to attendees and members through this section of the Online Learning Center. All attendees, including members and non-members, can access materials from recent programs. Members can also purchase access to events they were not able to attend. Access to materials and recordings from certain past live sessions is available to NACUA members for free.
- Briefing Recording
NACUA Briefings offer timely education on breaking legal developments. Briefings are audio-only and free of charge for NACUA members.
- Online Course Recordings
NACUA’s online courses give participants in-depth coverage of important issues in the practice of higher education law. Each course features PowerPoint presentations narrated by leading higher education law experts, extensive course materials, self-assessments and instructor-led webinars. Learn more

Facilitates member engagement by featuring opportunities for members to interact. Fosters relationship-building and houses NACUAMentors, a program that matches members for one-on-one guidance and support. Learn more

Self-organized and self-governing groups based on a commonality of regional, institutional, personal or other interests; all members are welcome to join. Learn more
Volunteering
- Committees: Opportunity for members to volunteer to serve on one of 12 available committees on programming and governance; annual invitation to serve is sent each April. Learn more
- Speaking Opportunities: Opportunity to volunteer to serve as a speaker or moderator at live and virtual programs. Learn more
- Writing Opportunities: Opportunity to volunteer to author a NACUA legal resource such as a NACUANOTE or a Journal article. Learn more
