Dear Colleagues,

We are just two weeks away from the 2024 Annual Conference! The entire NACUA office is preparing to travel to Columbus to provide members with the highest level of service. We are looking forward to meeting you in person.

This year will be my third NACUA Annual Conference, and I am as excited as ever to be joining you in Columbus this year. Getting to meet and spend time with so many of our members all in one place is the highlight of the year.

I would like to thank the 2024 Program Committee for helping us to plan what is the most expansive NACUA Annual Conference ever. For the first time, we will have 100 sessions and discussion groups that will cover the latest legal trends and higher education legal developments. This makes it the largest to date in terms of number of sessions and CLE credits.

The one and only Dean Erwin Chemerinsky will be delivering his much-awaited update on the Supreme Court. Our Thursday featured session, the Washington Update with Traevena Byrd, Jonathan Fansmith, and Ken Goldstein, will delve into the current political landscape and its potential impact on higher education.

Additionally, we are pleased to welcome Catherine Lhamon, Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education for an O.C.R Regulatory Update. As part of the Friday featured session, she will be interviewed live by Josh Richards, Partner at Saul Ewing LLP, on the latest Title VI and Title IX developments affecting higher education institutions.

We will then wrap up the conference with NACUA’s second annual Closing Plenary. The plenary session will feature subject matter experts on A.I., John O'Brien, George Siemens, and Jack Bernard. They will explore the opportunities and challenges posed by A.I. If you would like to join us in Columbus, there is still time to register

If you are already registered for the conference, don’t forget to browse the Columbus events and tours NACUA has planned. To sign up for one of the NACUA-led networking activities, log in to your conference registration and select “Modify Reservation” then toggle to the “Networking Details” to reserve an event or tour. Many members treasure these casual outings as they offer a chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones while expanding their networks. Spaces are limited so make sure to reserve soon.

See you in Columbus!
