David L. Harrison - 2008
David L. Harrison received his B.A. in philosophy from Grand Valley State University, and his J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law. He also studied at The University of Vienna, Austria. He began his legal career as law clerk to Justice James H. Brickley in the Michigan Supreme Court. After serving with the Court, he practiced trial and appellate litigation and business transactions as a partner in a Grand Rapids, Michigan law firm. He served as Assistant General Counsel for Central Michigan University before joining The University of North Carolina.
Mr. Harrison has been a member of NACUA since 2000. He has served on NACUA’s Committee on Legal Education, Committee on Annual Program, and Committee on Publications. He has served as a speaker, moderator, or discussion leader seventeen times throughout his NACUA membership. In addition, he authored The Journal of College and University Law article “The P2P File Sharing War After Grokster: It Feels Like Belgium Over Here,” the NACUANOTE “New Regulations on Possession, Use and Transfer of Biological Agents and Toxins,” and the NACUA publication The Practical Litigation Series: Overview of a Lawsuit.
