Part 2: The Supreme Court Decides the Race-Conscious Admissions Cases

On June 29, 2023, the Supreme Court issued its highly anticipated opinion in the race-conscious admissions cases.  A few hours later, attendees of the 2023 NACUA Annual Conference gathered for a Live Briefing to hear initial impressions regarding the opinion, its impacts on higher education, and initial considerations for next steps.  In the intervening weeks, litigation and external pressure on colleges and universities has swiftly and dramatically increased, ahead of the Department of Education’s anticipated guidance on legal race-neutral methods to achieve diversity on campus.

Join us for a 45-minute NACUA briefing during which presenters will provide a summary of the opinion, an overview of the current state of litigation and external developments, and practical tips to position your institution for moving forward.
